Needless to explain why this track took the name it took. This track really started out with me humming the clean part melody of the intro and in-between the song where it plays solo. You can find a very interesting first rough version of Egypt Signals at my soundclick.com/don7v page where I regularly upload my clips and ideas. I this original version you can actually hear me singing this melody in the middle of the track where now this part has been changed a bit to be replaced by guitar sounding as a wholly different and unique melody. I wanted to do a quick-rec so I wouldn't forget it later on and I grabed my SM57 dynamic microphone, the one I used to mic my ENGL 212 V30 cab to record the album, and recorded the main voice and 3-4 different harmonies on top. Also, I really got inspired by the tuning of a Periphery song called Zyglrox. I had also set my 6-string guitar to act as a 7-string when you remove the low D string. So basically it is A-G-C-F-A-D. At the same time I was listening to Threat Signal's new album preview song Fallen Disciples non-stop. So Periphery and Threat Signals are big influences of Egypt Signals. IMO this track's melodies are really mesmerising..
